I love to paint; it is my passion. I do it all the time and have sold under SusieQ Originals for over twenty-five years. I sell my paintings primarily on ebay or through this blog, as I found the shows here in Dallas had seemed to run their course. I am also a special education teacher. I specialize in learning disabilities and am the strategist for a 7th grade team. I love this job.

New Moon

Yesterday I went to see New Moon. Actually I had taken off from work because my dog, Bear, was geting fixed, and he doesn't know how to drive. Seemed like a good excuse to see the movie.
I was a little shocked by the $12 price tag for HD but well worth it. The storyline is basically true to the book, and I, a true movie freak, loved it. There were a lot of teenagers skipping school there, and what I found most surprising, quite a few adult males sitting alone very engrossed in the show. Bet they didn't read that book at lunch.
Looking forward to the third movie already. I don't know how they made great movies before computer graphics.

Estate Sales, better than garage sales
I have found a new passion-estate sales. The prices are higher but the junk has been weeded out. Last Friday we went to an Estate Sale by Help Me Rhonda in Highland Park. Don't know what happened, but Highland Park shut them down 10 minutes into the sale. Found this great site that lists the estate sales in the DFW area.

Country Home

I lost a friend this week---Country Home. I have read this magazine since it first was launched and am feeling a loss. On top of that, my favorite ME Home Companion, Home, and Cottage Living. What's a girl to read---the back of the cereal box! Seriously, I went to Country Home's site to email them and could not find an email address. And what about subscriptions? I received the Hallmark magazine yesterday. It is not anything I would have chosed, and I'm not sure what it is replacing. I might have to find a step program to help with my withdrawal because I am a decorating magazine addict.
With this news Blogs have become even more important. There are fresh ideas on-line, and although I enjoy my magazines, I also enjoy reading the blogs.

Bad Ebayer
I bought a blackbery from Trojansteals on ebay on June 29 and never received it yet(Today is the 11th). I am upset about this. If you look at his recent feedback since I purchased there is alot of bad feedback. When I bought he had an 100% rating. I keep thinking he is reselling the blackberry over and over.

New on Ebay
I posted a couple of things on Ebay yesterday. Let me show you: 13 aprons, a cute little lighthouse stool and the best of all---a vintage daisy pendant light. I love it, but really don't have a place for it. I found a cigar box of these tax stamps from the 30's to 50's in the garage. I am almost ashamed to say that they have been there for about 20 years.
Last month I started listing my paintings on ETSY. It was a slow start but now that I've sold a couple of paintings there, I am very hopeful. It is so much more economical than ebay.

Blackberry Picking

Today we went Blackberry/Blueberry Picking. We really had to think twice about it because of the cost of gas, but decided if the whole family went in the same car it would be $24 for gas. CRAZY
It was a good time for all. It's good to see the grandkids==15, 10, and 3---having a good time experiencing something I was able to do with my cousins in upstate NY when I was a kid.

Rockstar Painting
I painted this painting to match the Rockstar bedding online, but the customer didn't like it. She was looking for more of a cookie cutter painting that anyone could do. I gave her what she wanted and she was happy. Listed this on ebay last night, and unbelievably it was sold this morning. I am shocked because this is not my style at all.
